About The FLAMES Game

The FLAMES Game is the school-bench name game, put on a phone. Two names go in, shared letters get struck out, the rest are counted around F L A M E S, and one letter is left.

It is a game. It looks at spelling and nothing else, so it cannot tell you what anyone feels. The same names always give the same answer, which is the whole fun of it.

We show every strike because that is how the game was always played: in pen, in the margin of a notebook. You can check our answer by hand in a minute.

The site has no ads and needs no login. The names you type stay in your browser. If you spot a wrong count, write to us and we will fix it.
